The Petroglyphs at Talking Rock

by Talking Rock 23. March 2012 21:19

How did "Talking Rock" get its name?

Nearly 2,000 native Indian petroglyphs can be found in the Ranch's Inscription Canyon. In 2002, Talking Rock donated the ancient petroglyph site to the indigenous Yavapai Indian Community for preservation and protection from development.

Talking Rock Launches Community Garden

by Talking Rock 20. March 2012 21:17

March 23 Seminar Features “The Garden Guy” Ken Lain

The Garden Guy - Ken LainYou asked for it, and we listened! After many homeowners expressed interest in a community garden, we are excited to announce that development is officially moving forward! Just in time for spring’s warm weather, the garden will consist of ten 12-foot by 4-foot garden plots located in our west dog park.

We invite those interested in learning more about the community garden, or simply sharpening their gardening skills, to join us for a seminar with Ken Lain, owner of Watters Design and Garden Centers, Friday, March 23 at 3 p.m. in the Windmill Room at the Golf Clubhouse.

Known as “The Garden Guy” Lain offers his expertise on the best techniques for gardening, particularly in high mountain climates like Prescott, in his weekly column in The Daily Courier. A Master Gardener with more than 30 years of experience in the Tri-City area, Lain is also a Certified Nursery Professional.

With limited plots available in the Talking Rock garden, a lottery will be held each year to reserves spaces. Plots are large enough for two or more Talking Rock families to share and are $100 per plot each planting season to cover watering expenses.

RSVP for the seminar by emailing interest to cpoteet@harvardinvestments.com by Thursday, March 22 at 3 p.m.
