Before the weather warms up a tad, take advantage of the beautiful spring weather. Talking Rock has planned some great outdoor events for swimmers, golfers and dancers alike!

 

Thursday, May 2
Wine Pair Dinner
6 p.m.

Enjoy a menu of five courses expertly paired with wines that will have you traveling to the country of Italy. Dishes include braised Chianti beef short ribs, calamari steak stuffed orange roughy with a squid ink picatta sauce and more. The dinner is $85 per person and space is limited to the first 30 members and guests. Contact F&B Director Chris Heinrich for more information or to sign up.

 

Friday, May 3
Community Hike

Join fellow naturists at COOP’s for an east perimeter trail hike. The four to five mile round trip trek is well-suited for both beginning and moderate hikers. For more information or to sign up for the hike, contact Fitness Director Pam.

Cinco de Mayo Guest Day Golf Event and Party
7:15 a.m.

Get ready to cha cha cha but not on the dance floor. On the golf course! The annual “Cha Cha Cha” tournament will start with grab & go breakfast burritos before golfing. The Fiesta in the Ranch House party will conclude the day with drink specials, food stations, and a prize piñata full of club discounts and goodies. The cost is $50 for Homestead members, $60 for Arizona & Ranch members and $70 for guests. Ladies Opening Day Golf Luncheon

Ladies, come kick-off the 2013 golf season at the Windmill Room with a lunch and presentation by the golf staff. Upcoming events and golf programs will be discussed and previewed. Reserve your spot at the luncheon by email.

9 & Dine

Couples can compete for the title of “2013 9 & Dine Champions” during this golf tournament with a “fun first” format. Start the game in the early evening and end the competition with dinner in the Windmill Room. Reserve your spot by email.

 

Mothers Day PrescottSunday, May 12
Mother’s Day Brunch
11 a.m.

Forget breakfast in bed this year and treat the moms in your life to a delicious brunch prepared by Chef Richard. Diners will enjoy an omelet and crepe station, seafood station and dishes like Tilapia Newburg and Salt Cured Salmon. The brunch will end on a sweet note with one of Chef’s delicious dessert displays. ‘50s Themed Pizza Party
5:30 p.m.

Grab your poodle skirts and leather jackets and head to the Ranch House for pizza, wings and some ‘50s entertainment, including music and dancing! Get to twisting for the best “twist” contest and come dressed to the nines for a shot in the best dressed contest. Enjoy a variety of Chef’s delicious pizza slices, wings, salad and garlic bread for $15 per person. Reservations, required by May 12, can be made by email.

 

Golf Demo Day in PrescottSaturday, May 18
Golf Demo Day
10 a.m.

Golfers looking to add some new equipment to their bag can head to Golf Demo Day to preview the latest and greatest gear from brands such as PING, Callaway and Titleist. The day will also honor veterans for National Armed Forces Day. Guests can hit up the tees for $75, with $25 of the cost going directly to Goodies-4-Grunt while veterans are invited to golf at no cost. The event will also collect donations such as toiletries, DVDs and CDs to send.

3 – Club Championship
12:30 p.m.

Compete in this 18-Hole net stroke play championship with the choice of three clubs and a putter. Eighty percent of each player’s course handicap will be used and deducted from the 18-hole score. Both men’s and ladies’ divisions are available and players will be flighted based on the number of participants. Sign up with the Golf Shop or by emailing Head Professional Dave Buettner.

First Splash Pool Party
3:30 p.m.

This Happy Hour, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., will be the kick-off of swimming season at the pool! Join us poolside for some fun in the sun, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drink specials!

Saturday, May 25
2013 Doggie Derby
3 p.m.

Whose pup will be the fastest? Join us at the Practice Range for the race for man’s best friend. Dogs will be placed in one of three divisions, mighty mites, middle weights and heavy weights, as they race each other for their respective title. Sign up your pooch with the Golf Staff or email Race Organizer Mike Brechler.

Music on the Patio
11 p.m.

Enjoy an afternoon on the patio while listening to live music and dancing. Dine on burgers, brats, hotdogs and chicken hot off the grill and all the classic picnic style sides from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., while the live entertainment takes place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Make your reservation.

 

Monday, May 27
Memorial Day Modified Chapman Golf Event
8 a.m.

End Memorial Weekend with a two-player competition in a modified chapman format. After, celebrate your win (or lick your wounds) at a lunch and barbecue in the Ranch House with Chef Richard’s Smoke House menu.

 

Friday, May 31 – Sunday, June 2
Talking Rock Open
9 a.m.

Head to the course for the first major of the year. The stroke play championship and 54-hole event offers both gross and net divisions for men and women. To sign up for the open, contact the Golf Shop or Head Professional Dave Buettner.
