2017 Walk For Animals

Dogs are a big a part of Talking Rock. That’s a well-established fact in this community, with the popularity of Jake’s Corner Dog Park, our “Yappy Hour” festivities and the optional dog runs offered at our homes.

Our community’s love of dogs is one of the reasons we are proud to be the presenting sponsor for Walk for the Animals, a fundraiser for the Yavapai Humane Society. Held on May 20, 2017, the sixth annual event raises money to cover the cost of medical treatment, behavior programs and provide compassionate care to more than 3,000 animals that are cared for at the humane society every year.

Beyond the walk, the event will feature a “barketplace” with fun booths for animals and animal lovers. The event will also include activities for kids, a dog adoption area with local rescue groups and a discount spay, neuter and wellness clinic.

The YHS Walk for the Animals will be held at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, 3700 Willow Creek Road in Prescott, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is open to the public. Registration is $25 for adult and $15 for youth walkers, who are also encouraged to raise additional funds before the walk.

Is your pooch a ham?  Register him or her for the “Strut Your Mutt” contest for just $5, knowing your dog’s vanity will benefit other animals in need. Every dollar counts.

And, when it comes to dogs, Talking Rock is happy to bark about this walk knowing it will support the animals in our community that need it most.
